Our Team. Our Name. Our Colors.

Press Conference: DC Rob Ryan - Barry McBride

(On his 3-4 defense compared to Romeo Crennel’s 3-4 defense) – “To be honest with you, I’m not here to farm anyone else’s land. I’m not sure how things were done here in the past. I know our vision, myself, Eric (Mangini) and the rest of the defensive staff. We want to be multiple and [...]

Once again, in Cleveland, it’s “old and slow.” - Mark Leonard

With full acknowledgement that this is a football site, viewing the Cavaliers in their playoff series with Orlando reminds how often Cleveland teams appear old and slow.
Think about it: When was the last time a team representing NE Ohio was considered fast? Certainly not any recent Browns’ squad. Absolutely not the Indians, at least not since [...]

Big Baby can’t drive 55. Or 65. Or 75… - John Taylor

No, this isn’t breaking news or anything, but we want to attempt to get this blog thing rolling again, so you have to start somewhere.
Anyway, the Offseason of Discontent for Shaun Rogers continued earlier this week as the defensive lineman was pulled over for going really, really fast.  Not Braylon Edwards fast, mind you, but [...]

Injury Updates and More “Browns Bits” - Barry McBride

This is sent out by the Browns media relations group each Thursday during a game week, and has some updates on injuries and so forth. The Battle of Ohio approaches. I guess. Whatever.

Bills Sound Bytes - John Taylor

Last season, the Browns downed the Bills, 8-0, in blizzard-like conditions at Cleveland Browns Stadium, keeping the Browns’ playoff hopes alive and essentially squashing the Bills’ postseason aspirations.
That loss seems to have stuck in Buffalo’s craw as several players are talking about exacting revenge on Cleveland in the days leading up to their Monday night [...]

Thursday ‘Browns Bits’ - John Taylor

Another day, another batch of media notes from the Cleveland Browns.  And each one is more delicious than the last!
Shockingly, there are quotes from both Brady Quinn AND Derek Anderson.  Imagine the odds…

Rogers Officially A Beast - John Taylor

For a week, anyway, as the NFL announced minutes ago that Browns defensive tackle Shaun Rogers has been named the league’s defensive player of the week.
He is the second Browns player in three games to win an award; Eric Wright received the AFC  honor for his Monday Night performance versus the Giants.
For the entire press [...]

Anderson to Start; Rogers Hurt - Fred Greetham

Romeo Crennel announced that Derek Anderson will start against the Bengals, but Brady Quinn ‘will be ready’.
Crennel said he wouldn’t say any more about the situation, but sounded as though Anderson was on a short leash.
Also, DL Shaun Rogers will sit out practice with a shoulder injury. Crennel did say that he expected Rogers to [...]

Why Not the 4-3? - Fred Greetham

I was just musing on my way home from another opening season loss for the Browns. If linebackers are the key to the 3-4, why don’t the Browns try going to the 4-3?
The strength of the defense is clearly the defensive line. They could play Shaun Smith and Shaun Rogers at the tackles and Robaire [...]
