FROM THE LOCKER ROOM
Running back Jerome Harrison
(On not winning AFC Offensive Player of the Week)- “I just found out Ben (Roethlisberger) got it. He deserved it. He is a household name, won Super Bowls and made a [heck] of a play to win the game. I am not mad about it. I don’t play for accolades anyways. I just love to play the game and have fun.”
Wide Receiver Mohamed Massaquoi
(On Nnamdi Asomugha)- “He is arguably one of the best in the game. It will definitely be a challenge. It will be one that I am excited for, just to get a chance to match up against a guy of his caliber so early.”
(On Derek Anderson starting at quarterback)- “We are playing confident right now so we don’t expect to have any drop in performance. We are just going to continue to take strides to get better.”
Fullback Lawrence Vickers
(On if he has gotten better this year)- “I feel like I’ve gotten a lot better this year. Each year I try to get better in every aspect of my game. That’s something that I focus on a lot because there’s a lot of people that play the fullback position that want to block, but don’t want to be dominate blockers. I want to be dominating in everything that I do. I am going to pay even more attention to the details in that aspect, whether it’s my fit or my technique. I am always working on that in everything that I do.”
(On blocking)- “When I am blocking I usually am running like I have the ball in my hand. It’s not necessarily me going to block one person, it’s always the right person. It’s not a person, it’s the right person to make sure that the play springs for more than what we expect or for what we expect. I am always running with the ball in my hands, that’s how I can get into those places. I need to make sure I hit this person or that person to spring the play.”
