Mangini Doesn’t Want to Expound - Tue, Nov 3 2009 at 11:42 am

Eric Mangini said very little in his opening comments about the relieving of duties of friend and GM George Kokinis.

“George is a friend of mine and I respect him…For a variety of reasons, this didn’t work out.”"

“We have a strong structure on the pro side and the college side and will continue to move on. I know you have a lot of questions, but I’m not going to address anything else.

“In terms of this topic, I will not add anything to this…”

With that all questions to start the Q & A were on the topic, but Mangini refused to address any of them.

“In terms of timetable, I can say all I can,” he said. “I understand and appreciate the questions you have, but I can’t talk about anything other than what I’ve said.”

He wouldn’t say if Kokinis will be replaced, let alone, by whom.

“What I can say is I think we have a really strong structure on the personnnel side.”

He was asked about the role of  Bernie Kosar.

“I understand the question, but can’t say any more (about Kosar’s role).”
