Thursday practice notes - Thu, Aug 6 2009 at 2:48 pm

Thursday afternoon practice had QB Derek Anderson hooking up on a deep pass with WR Brian Robiskie behind DB Corey Ivy…QB Brett Ratliff hit WR Braylon Edwards on a long pass as did Anderson with WR Lance Leggett behind DB Gerard Lawson…QB Brady Quinn and Edwards hooked up on what would’ve been a senstational catch by Edwards, but the official ruled he was out of bounds as DB Hank Poteat was covering…OL Branndon Braxton from Oklahoma and Youngstown, Ohio ran several laps for mistakes as did QB Richard Bartel…DB Eric Wright appeared to tweak a hamstring but returned to drills…WR David Patten was on the sideline with the trainers…DB Mike Adams was back at practice…DB Don Carey (shoulder) and FB Charles Ali (undisclosed) were not on the field…A new defensive back named Anderson was practicing wearing No. 36. Eric Mangini did not announce any roster moves at his press conference prior to practice.

Derek Anderson is the guy. Cleveland fans need to grow up and shut up and just let the coaches do their job. Learn to appreciate and support greatness. A youg prosperous quarterback like Derek needs support and confidence to lead his mediocre team to many victories. With booing jaded sorry fans like cleveland has got, it’s a wonder Derek did as great as he did. But he will be great for the Browns and you fans need to learn to just love the game once again and stop trying to rush things. Great teams are built around time, practice, mistakes and learning from them. Tim Couch was a mistake but he had time to show it. Anderson has already proved he is better than couch.
